We design and manufacture machines for measuring precision cylindrical and/or rotating components, such as EV drive and rotor shafts, camshafts, crankshafts, pump shafts, and robotic reducer shafts. Our customers span a variety of industries, with our core base in the automotive, heavy/medium diesel, and industrial machinery markets. Adcole manufactures exclusively in Massachusetts for shipment to customers in the US and around the world. Position Summary Set up and operate manually operated cylindrical and surfacing grinding equipment in the production of very tight toleranced, proprietary parts in support of Adcole's gaging systems. The position works on tight schedules with a strong requirement for efficient equipment and time management. Job Duties • Acquire job skills and learn all applicable company policies and procedures. • Adhere strictly to the company's health, safety, and PPE policies. • Complete assigned tasks while following manufacturing schedules, policies, and procedures. • Receive instruction on daily work assignments and deadlines. • Assume responsibility for meeting schedules and ensuring quality of work. • Act as a champion of the company's Lean and Continuous Improvement programs. • Maintain time and attendance in accordance with company policies, procedures, and work area schedule. • Complete work orders on schedule to ensure a constant flow of finished products to support production and customer service levels. • Escalate situations and conditions that are critical to quality, safety, and on-time delivery. Education And Experience • High School Diploma or Equivalent. • 5+ years of related experience in precision grinding to tolerances less than 1 micron. • Demonstrated capability to read and interpret complex part mechanical drawings. • Demonstrated ability to perform basic math. • Experience in the setup and operation of Okamoto Surface Grinders, Junker Cylindrical Grinders, Kellenberger Cylindrical Grinders is a definite plus. • Demonstrated ability to define tooling and fixturing requirements. • Demonstrated knowledge in the use of mechanical measurement metrology, height gaging, dial indicators, micrometers, and vernier calipers. • Experience in an ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing environment preferred. • Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment is a plus.
