Leading Manufacturer located in Waterbury CT, has an immediate need for a Maintenance Mechanic. Maintenance Mechanic We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to support operations in our pharmaceutical packaging facility. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of equipment and systems critical to production, utilities, and facility operations. This position ensures that all work complies with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), safety, and regulatory standards. Job Responsibilities • Should be able to perform hands-on troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on packaging equipment (e.g., blister machines, cartoners, labelers, conveyors) • Maintain facility equipment and have knowledge of troubleshooting of facility equipment (like Air handling unit, Chillers, boilers, air compressors etc.) and machinery as required • Perform equipment set up procedures in accordance with SOPs and operator’s manuals • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and drawings • Identify and assist in diagnosing problems, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and determine tests, adjustments, repairs, or replacement as necessary • Adhere to site procedures, safety protocols and regulatory requirements • Provide emergency, unscheduled repairs for equipment • Maintain complete documentation in accordance with SOPs and GMP requirements • Ensure proper setup of the packaging line before and during a job run • Perform pest control duties, as assigned • Perform tasks related to facility maintenance, as assigned • Complete assigned maintenance work orders in a timely manner and document accordingly as per procedures • Inspect for cleanliness • Other Duties as assigned Education • High school diploma or equivalent is required • Technical certification, trade school training, or associate degree in a related field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance) is strongly preferred. • Additional training or certification in cGMP, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or equipment-specific maintenance is a plus. • Two-year technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience Skills & Experience • Must have at least 5 years of Maintenance experience in Pharmaceutical/ Nutraceutical Packaging, Manufacturing, or Automation • Experience in Electrical and Automation is "Highly Preferred" • Maintain facility equipment and have knowledge of troubleshooting of facility equipment (AHUS, Chillers, boilers, air compressors etc.) and machinery if required. • Able to follow both written and verbal instruction • Attention to detail • Ability to learn new skills • Strong communication skills • Organized • Extremely dependable • Knowledge of production environment and processes • Awareness of Quality and Safety • Strong Team Player • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment • Analytical thinker and problem solver • Technical aptitude • Maintains a positive attitude • Knowledge of American (SAE) and Metric measuring systems • Must be able to perform basic plumbing, electrical, and other facility repair tasks • Working knowledge of basic power tools • Must be able to operate forklift, scissor lift, and other motorized equipment as necessary Physical Requirements • Able to lift 40+ pounds • Able to work in elevated locations on ladder or scissor lift • Able to push/pull heavy loads daily • Able to stand for periods lasting 2 hours or more • Able to work in unconditioned environments (both hot and cold) • Must be able to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements Job Type: Full-time Benefits • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Company dental reimbursement policy • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • 13 paid holidays Schedule • 10 hour shift • Day shift and work as necessary based on need basis including holidays Ability To Commute • Waterbury, CT 06705 (Required) Ability To Relocate If Necessary • Waterbury, CT 06705: Relocate before starting work (Required) • Zing is an equal opportunity employer #ZINGZIP #ZINGNJHV.
