see moreJob Location Boston Job Description Role description: This role is responsible for being the electrical systems owner for the site, which involves maintaining the Plant’s Electrical Safety Program for electrical power systems at the site, from the utility service entrance down to 50 volts. Power systems include medium and low voltage switchgear and circuit breakers, protective relays, standby generators, transformers, power distribution panels, panel boards, meters, and electrical personal protective equipment. Tasks include facilities electrical maintenance and repair work, small electrical installations, troubleshooting, coordinating electrical activities and resources during planned site-wide electrical shutdowns, conducting training and audits. Serves as the primary contact for the electric utility company and the supervisor for site electricians. Responsibilities: • Monitoring of power distribution systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, industry, and P&G standards. • Conducting audits to verify compliance with safety standards and procedures. • Responsible for planning and execution of electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. • Responsible for managing and supervising junior electrician resources. • Responsible for testing, inspection and coordinating the repair of power distribution system devices and equipment. • Responsible for calculating and determining the available fault current at the point-of-use. • Responsible to keep single line drawings, short circuit studies, coordination studies, and arc flash hazard studies up to date. • Responsible for creating and maintaining nameplates for point-of-use equipment that include electrical safety details such as available fault current, electrical PPE, electrical source, etc. • Inspection of critical grounding points. • Ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of safety lighting systems. • Creating electrical hazard assessments and clearly identifying those areas. • Capability building for employees on electrical safety, guidelines, and procedures. • Collaborate with the Construction Management Organization (CMO) on creating a scope of work and identifying contractors to execute projects end to end. • Be part of an on-call rotation for facilities/electrical emergencies. • Leads the review of proposed changes to electrical systems - provides input to the Overall Risk Assessment. • Maintains the site power system master plan which includes disaster recovery planning, replacement of obsolete equipment, repairs, projects and capacity improvements. • Manages energized electrical work permits and temporary wiring permit system. • Manages the selection of tools, equipment, and PPE used for work on electrical systems. • Maintains contacts and communication with the utility company. Job Qualifications Job Skills Required: Licensed Electrician by the State of Massachusetts, or recognized by State of Massachusetts. Qualifications Required to Successfully Perform Role (some may be developed while in role) • Knowledge of and abides by applicable codes and laws • Skills to perform electrical work following all electrical safety procedures • Extensive Knowledge of Power Distribution Systems • Is low voltage qualified (50 to 1000 V) • Is medium voltage qualified (1000 to 36 kV) • Advanced electrical hardware troubleshooting, repair, and documentation skills • In-depth root cause problem solving capability • Skills to plan and execute electrical shutdowns • Ability to read and understand electrical single line drawings, short circuit studies, coordination studies, and arc flash hazard studies and apply as needed. • Skills to lead and execute electrical projects and initiatives following P&G standards • Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to interface with vendors, engineering contacts, core teams, and management • Self-motivation – able to perform job with little or no supervision and understand Leadership Intent and Vision Job Skills Desired: • ESO Qualification per P&G Current Best Approach (CBA) • Leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively with teams *The following are Qualifications set by P&G for Plant sites that can be developed in role* Site Expected Qualifications (may be developed while in the role): Low Voltage (50V to 100V) Qualified Medium Voltage (1000 to 36 kV) Qualified Electrical Systems Owner (ESO) Qualification Priorities and Approximate Allocation of Time: • 80% - Electrical System Ownership • 20% - Coaching and capability building The Procter & Gamble South Boston Plant operates 7-days per week. We rely on local talent and relocation is generally not paid. Electricians work on fixed shift schedules throughout the week. Additional days may be required to be worked as overtime, including work on weekends. Some travel may be required for trainings. Responsibilities Under minimal direction, the CNC Class A Machinist will program, set-up, and operate multiple Mazak CNC vertical milling machines using GD&T blueprints, 3D solid models, and/or written and graphical information supplied from a CAD/CAM system. Setup, monitor and maintain tooling during job runs. Load, inspect, and run tooling and programs to a high complexity (+/- .0005”)! Perform in-process inspection and document results. Follow systems processes for job tracking and recording! Expected to support the daily activities of the Group Leader in delivering daily results. You will be responsible for: • Ensuring the highest quality products are produced on time and at the lowest attainable cost by utilizing standardized tools, creation of standards and building capability. • Working from CAD/CAM files, engineering drawings, sketches and or verbal instructions to perform highly diversified CNC operations to specifications. • Creating and editing semi-complex programs using CAD/CAM systems and machine controllers. • Assisting in training workforce in proper setup and use of equipment/systems. • Recognizing and reporting any inadequacies in prints, materials and route sheets in order to be corrected. • Maintaining I-Quality standards related to work procedures and tool/machine maintenance. Assets For This Position • 5+ years of CNC machinist background preferred. • Knowledge of machine shop practices, elementary mechanics, machining methods, cutting qualities of materials, proper speeds and feeds. • Experience with machining steels of various grades and hardness. • Ability to work to +/-.0005. • Ability to read, understand, and program in G-Code format. Mazak-control background preferred. • Ability to use a computer, to work from complicated drawings and/or verbal communication in the assembly of components. • Basic knowledge of MS Office. In order to perform the work described above in our manufacturing atmosphere, plant technicians use basic hand and power tools; lift 50 pounds by bending and stooping; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platforms; twist, turn and bend; enter confined spaces; and stand on concrete floors for an extended period of time. Further, technicians have and are able to display skills in manufacturing processes, including operating, maintaining and cleaning automated equipment; maintaining accurate records and data; strong technical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and knowledge of computers. Additionally, the safety of Technicians is of great importance to Procter & Gamble. Technicians will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment, such as safety shoes, ear protection, and eye protection. Relocation packages will be considered for the proper candidate.
