see moreReports To: HVAC Product Manager Work Hours: Full Time FLSA Status: Exempt Branch(s): location varies Position Purpose Provide technical support for multi-HVAC product lines. Internal technical support for heating/cooling load calculations. Effectively handles product support, accurately builds new products and trouble shoots. Offers a high level of customer service and support. Essential Functions • Technical Support for our Multi-HVAC lines including Bosch, Ruud, Century and others. Support to include hydronics including Weil McLain, Peerless, Utica, St. Roch and others. • Requires travel for onsite support throughout our Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York locations. • Internal technical support for heating/cooling load calculations • Responsible for product support throughout the company both at branches and on site locations • Keep up to date on continuous training on all current and future HVAC products • Implement trainings to employees internally and to external contractors • Events support such as product spotlight events, counter days at all P&H locations as well as after hour event support such as dealer meetings, trainings etc. • May be required to attend away/overnight trainings for products during the year. • Must have HVAC technical abilities such as wiring support, refrigeration cycle, hydronics technical support, Gas, & Oil furnace and boiler technical knowledge • Provide hands-off technical support advising P&H contractors solutions to their technical problems in all aspects of HVAC and hydronics. • Radiant, Snowmelt & Duct design are a plus • Accurately build out product descriptive screens as well as keep descriptive information up to date. • Build new products out in a consistent manner. • Design/setup/instruct HVAC related subjects for both in-house and on-site contractor visits. • Assist with in person trainings at branches and other training locations; some travel may be required. • Recognizes HVAC tech issues, problems, or opportunities and determines best action needed. • Practice teamwork in order to best service internal and external customers • Keep up to date on HVAC product and industry knowledge • Maintain a safe, clean and professional work environment • Other duties as required Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. Experience, Education & Skills • Minimum three years HVAC experience required. • High school diploma or GED required and HVAC/trade certification. • Must possess a valid drivers license and a clean motor vehicle record • Mathematical skills, accuracy in measurements • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel required. • Experience using current hardware and software peripherals. • Ability to multi-task and to meet deadlines. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Physical Requirements • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Provide exceptional service to Plimpton and Hills customers over the phone and within the assigned branch. Maintain an extensive knowledge of company plumbing / heating / HVAC products in order to best meet and anticipate the needs of the customer. Work collaboratively with inside sales, branch management and associates to generate sales. Essential Functions • Provide exceptional customer service at all times, actively seek opportunities to help customers. • Answer telephone calls professionally and pleasantly. • Accurately input and fill customer orders. • Effectively handle escalated customer calls as needed. • Locate and obtain ordered products for customers. • Assist in the handling of defective parts and warranty information. • Process approved credits for customers when products are returned. • Understand and anticipate the needs of customers. • Follow up on leads through email and phone calls. • Connect potential accounts to the appropriate team members in order to best service their needs. • Proactively seek opportunities to obtain new customers and introduce them to the products and services that best match their needs. • Determine customer needs and potential for additional sales through suggestion of related products which will enhance their experience. • Teach customers about product features and benefits. • Apply active listening skills; paying attention to what customers are saying, being sure to understand their needs and asking appropriate questions in order to best enhance their purchasing experience. • Achieve company set goals and objectives as well as consistently strive to exceed sales performance goals. • Use customer feedback to generate ideas about new features or products • Research and discover methods to increase customer engagement • Continuously expand knowledge on new products, pricing changes, and discontinued products in order to best service the customers • Determine product sale price in accordance with company procedure as well as address questions about product availability • Keep pricing lists and structures confidential • May be responsible for branch beginning or end of workday building security • Maintain a clean and professional work environment. • Perform other responsibilities as directed. Experience, Education & Skills • A minimum of five to seven years HVAC industry Inside Sales/Counter Sales or Outside Sales experience required. • Knowledge of plumbing / heating / HVAC products required • Familiarity with industry’s rules and regulations. • Result driven and customer focused. • High school diploma or GED required, Associates degree preferred. Physical Requirements • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
