see moreOverview The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the basic repairs and upkeep of basic repair tasks generated by day to day operation of the warehouse as directed by the Operations Supervisor, Manager, or General Manager. Responsibilities • Evaluates mechanical and/or electrical failures in production equipment to determine appropriate corrective action. • Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots and repairs all production equipment as needed. • Responsible for operating the production machinery according to establish production needs/requirements while inspecting finished products for quality. • Responsible for set-up, loading, starting, adjusting process variables, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and properly shutting down process equipment in accordance with published production schedules and product specifications. • Communicates required repaired list of broken items to Manager on a timely manner. • Communicates items that cannot be repaired and would an outside vendor to be called in a timely manner. • Maintain tools required and maximum time is given to purchase required tools. • Supports the Safety Program of the facility and ensures all maintenance related areas of the warehouse meet all appropriate federal and company regulations. • Makes recommendations to the Manager on items that need repair or upgrade. • Maintains a list of all contractors /vendors. • Responsible for notifying the shift supervisor of significant deviations from normal operating conditions. • Responsible for assisting packers and material handling person. DOD Skillbridge Requirements And Eligibility The DOD Skillbridge Program is designed for military service members who are in their last 180 days of military service, transitioning out, and preparing to re-enter civilian life with the goal of entering the civilian workforce. The Diesel Technician Skillbridge Program is an intensive 120-150 day training experience that will give you the opportunities to become an expert in the field and work on tractors and trailers that are all company owned. • Must be within 180 days of transition from military service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard) • Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship • Open to all qualified transitioning active-duty U.S. service members, both officer and enlisted, of any rank and branch Your responsibilities as a Diesel Technician / Mechanic will include, but are not limited to: • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor and trailer-related issues using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows • Performance preventive maintenance on our fleet of tractors & trailers • Perform DOT inspection per FMSCA guidelines • Physically capable to perform all job duties, which includes being able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction, stand or lie for extended periods, and have flexible movement to reach equipment. To Become Part Of The NFI Team, You • Must have a valid driver's license • Preferred ability to obtain a Class B license • General Maintenance Experience • Successfully demonstrated problem-solving skills • Examples of teamwork and customer service skills include good oral and written communication skills.
