The ideal Precision Hand Lapping & Cleaning candidate should be proficient in interpreting blueprints. The candidate should be able to hand lap surfaces and diameters within specified size and finish requirements. Precision cleaning of parts will also be expected. The candidate should also be comfortable with using a microscope as most parts are inspected under a microscope to confirm surface finish, cleanliness, and visual requirements. Duties/Responsibilities: • Ability to read and interpret customer blueprints and company operation sheets to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. • Flat Lap surfaces and Lap Diameters (tolerances within .0001", Surface finishes within 8 ra) • Inspect or measure finished workpieces to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as a microscope, gauges, micrometers, indicators, and optical flats. • Maintains specifications by observing tooling; recording measurements; detecting discrepancies; trouble shooting processes; replacing worn tools. • Precision clean parts, as required. • Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Skills Requirements: • Excellent attention to detail. • Operate within Standard Aerospace Manufacturing requirements to include proper documentation, traceability, and lot control. • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. • Able to handle and follow verbal and written instruction. • High school diploma or equivalent. • 3-5 years' experience, preferred, willing to train the right candidate. Working Conditions: Normal Production environments, subject to moderate noise levels from manufacturing equipment; working in close proximity of moving equipment and potentially sharp machine parts; climate-controlled work environment with adequate venting to minimize breathing fumes, dust and mist; PPE provided to minimize skin exposure to oils, cutting fluids, and sharp metal edges Physical Requirements: • Must have ability to read applicable customer/B&E documents with or without corrective lenses. • May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required • Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time. Summary The CNC Mill Machinist should be proficient in all aspects of CNC Milling Machining to include set-up, operating and editing Duties/Responsibilities: • Maintains specifications by observing tooling; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; trouble shooting processes; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools. • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. • Ability to read and interpret customer blueprints and company operation sheets. • Ability to use the Machine Control. • Ability to set tools and enter offsets into Machine Control. • Ability to follow set up instructions including setting up fixtures, vices, and rotaries. • Troubleshoot and work directly with Programming and inspection to adjust CNC programs, as required. • Use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc. as required. • Operate within AS9100/ISO9001 requirements to include proper documentation, revision control, traceability and lot control. • Performs other duties as assigned.
