It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital. Responsibilities • Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate. • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess patients and to identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and age-related needs in order to provide individualized care to the patient. • Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel consistent with their level of education and expertise in order to meet patients' needs and to maximize staff performance. • Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds. Demonstrates knowledge of patients' condition and is able to provide appropriate input to meet desired outcomes for the appropriate patient population. • Reflects ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice (2015), ANA Code of Ethics (2015), and ANA Social Policy Statement (2015). • Develops, implements and revises individualized plans of care. • Participates in activities for professional growth and development outside of patient care. Qualifications • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. • Certified Surgical Tech specializing in Surgery credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). • Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program required • Experience preferred We take great care of careers. Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is a 122-bed, general acute care community hospital located in Torrington, Connecticut, that serves as a regional health care resource for the 100,000 residents of Litchfield County and Northwest Connecticut. CHH offers personalized attention from an expert team of caregivers and physicians that utilize advanced technology and clinical partnerships in a convenient, safe and comfortable patient environment. Job Summary Performs skilled plumbing work in the construction, maintenance and repair of the hospital’s plumbing, sprinkling, hot water, and dialysis and dialysis R.O. systems and their related components using various hand and power tools. Work guides will be blueprints, specifications, schematics, written or oral instructions and applicable codes in compliance with Joint Commission and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 101 Life Safety Code and all other applicable NFPA standards. The employee is subject to the usual hazards of plumbing work and is expected to apply appropriate safety precautions. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager and is evaluated by observation, inspections and the operational efficiency of systems and equipment. • Address and repair plumbing valves, fixtures, drainage, leaks and other plumbing issues. • Repairs and overhauls pumps and heat exchanges • Replace valves and associated equipment on steam systems or boilers • Isolate wiring defects, switches, motors and other electrical equipment • Cast iron line leaks and repairs • Dialysis Reverse Osmosis system repairs • Installs, maintains & repair sinks, showers, toilets, water heaters and other plumbing fixtures. Cuts, bends threads pipes and fits pipes with adjoining pipe assemblies • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and systems following preventative maintenance procedure policies, Documents completion of maintenance work and reports need for major repairs • Perform water sample testing to determine acidity levels • Ensures adequate levels of supplies, materials and equipment and advises when inventory is low • Reviews & inspects all plumbing work to ensure it complies with specifications and plumbing standards • Installs, maintains, tests & repairs medical gas lines, dialysis reverse osmosis systems (excluding patient treatment equipment) • Monitors fuel supplies and schedules deliveries • Performs repairs & preventative maintenance on all boilers, feed pumps, control valves, etc. Prepares boilers and related equipment for state and insurance inspections. Fires boilers, operates auxiliary equipment and controls the generation of a continuous supply of steam for heating, hot water and process operations • Submits estimates, materials and labor needed for projects and upgrading of stock. Pulls permits to work in confined spaces and perform hot work • Perform other related duties as required Qualifications • 5 years commercial plumbing experience required • Valid CT Plumbing license required • Brazing certification, Medi gas license, Backflow certification, OE2 license, F2 license and Health Care preferred • Working knowledge of hazards and accident prevention • Comply with OSHA standard for hot work • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and plumbing diagrams We take great care of careers.
