General Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, above average communication and organizational skills. Above all must be a team player with a high level of dedication. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand/walk up to 90% of the workday; occasional bending, squatting, ascending ladders/stairways, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds. Ability to assess weights and judge distance and heights is necessary. Duties and Responsibilities: Power on and inspect cut table (daily) that it moves properly and is safe to use. Turn on/off gas bottles daily and switch out gas bottles when needed. Places correct material onto cut table according to BOM on print for job/customer. Load correct DXF cut file according to customer and part from USB/thumb drive to computer. Create a nest program with DXF cut files needed for customers. Use correct plasma tip/consumables according to thickness of plate. Use tape measure to verify parts have been cut to dimensions/description on print. Handles evolving needs in a timely manner with an ability to do heavily task-oriented document processing quickly and efficiently as project timelines are often impacted in a hectic job shop environment. Mark all cut parts with name of customer, grade of material, and part number. Keeps track of daily production (consumption forms). Operate forklift and overhead crane. The Code Welder is responsible for performing welding operations according to established code and safety standards, ensuring that all welded structures meet specified design requirements, quality control guidelines, and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of welding codes, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to operate welding equipment in a fast-paced, high-precision environment. Responsibilities: • Perform welding tasks on various metal components according to welding codes and blueprints (e.g., AWS, ASME, or other industry-specific standards). • Ensures that all equipment is maintained and in good working order. • Efficiently and accurately operates welding equipment and related tools necessary for manufacturing and production. • Required to read prints and drawings accurately and follow all work instructions. • Examines work pieces for defects and measure work piece with straightedge or template to ensure conformance with specifications. • Dismantles metal assemblies or cuts scrap metal, using thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment. • Connects hoses from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas and turns valves to release mixture. • Climbs ladders or works on scaffolds. • Reports any discrepancies and safety related issues to shop foreman. • Performs any task, assignment, or project assigned by shop foreman with expeditiousness and accuracy to accommodate production flow. • Must inspect and repair all defects and discontinuities before Quality Control Inspector is called. • Make repairs on vessels or tanks that have not passed inspection or need repair. • Operates forklift, man lift, and scissor lift. • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), welding helmets, gloves, and safety gear. • Assists in training new welders and provide guidance on welding procedures and techniques as needed.
