Amentum is seeking a strong Welder/Fabricator to join our building maintenance team in Amarillo, TX ! • Typical work schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand. • May require availability for after-hour calls as directed by supervisor. This position is responsible for acting as a subject matter expert in Welding, fabricating steel, PVC, basic carpentry and aluminum structures with occasional exotic materials. Supporting engineering teams with rough modeling fixtures. Ensuring that components are within safety working loads and certifications. Purpose and Scope: The incumbent operates heavy equipment such as cranes, clamshells, power shovels, motor graders, heavy loaders, carryalls, bulldozers, rollers, scrapers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scrapper attachments. Essential Responsibilities: Equipment is used to excavate, load, or move and distribute dirt, gravel, or other materials. Excavates or stockpiles material on roads, drill pads, event sites, and construction sites. Rips rock, cuts slopes, pushes scrapers, and digs sumps.
